Fundamentals of Copyediting webinar: November-December 2013

Fundamentals of Copyediting, a five-session webinar covering copyediting basics (with new updates), will begin on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, and once a week until December 3, 2013 (five Tuesdays). Class meets 3:30 pm to 4:45 EDT each Tuesday. All sessions are recorded and sent to students (MP3 audio, handout files, and video clips where appropriate). Topics:

  • Reference and style guides
  • Software
  • Style sheets
  • Spelling
  • Capitalization
  • Numbers
  • Punctuation
  • Fact checking
  • Quoted material
  • Querying
  • Editorial tests
  • Résumés
  • and more

Attendees will get pre-class reading and exercises, in-class demonstrations, student handbook, homework assessments, and resume review. Classes will be recorded and available to registered attendees later (you do not have to attend “live” as it is happening). Students may also join our Editorial Bootcamp LinkedIn group, if they are not already members.
