Fundamentals of Copyediting, a five-session webinar covering nonfiction copyediting basics, will begin on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, and meet once a week until July 23, 2014 (five Wednesdays). Class meets 12 noon to 1:15 EDT each time. All sessions are recorded and sent to students (MP3 audio, handout files, and video clips where appropriate). Topics:
- What copyediting is and isn’t
- Reference and style guides
- Style sheets
- Fact checking
- Editorial tests
- and more
Attendees will get pre-class reading and exercises, in-class demonstrations, student handbook, homework assessments, and résumé review. Classes will be recorded and available to registered attendees later (you do not have to attend “live” as it is happening). Students may also join the Editorial Bootcamp LinkedIn group, if they are not already members.
