More Training Opportunities

Editorial Bootcamp is delighted to announce that one of our founders, Laura Poole, will be teaching three courses in Spring 2013 for different editorial associations.

On January 10, 2013, 11:30 am to 1 pm, I will be teaching an audio conference, Editing Figures and Tables” for Copyediting.com. The cost is $179, and you can have a CD recording of the training mailed to you for an extra $50. The course will cover how to edit figure captions, good table design and layout, and style issues. Particularly useful if you edit or write materials that include these elements, like journal articles or scientific documentation.

In February 2013, I am teaching a three-session online class called “The Art and Science of Style Sheets” for the Editorial Freelancers Association. The cost is $84 for EFA members, $99 for nonmembers. The course will be taught by posting documents online, there will be no need to attend an audio conference or webinar. The class will cover concepts of style sheets for nonfiction work, differences between style sheets for books and journals, best practices, and more.

On March 20, 2013, 7:30 to 8:30 pm, I am teaching a webinar called “Tax Tips for Editorial Freelancers,” also for the EFA. Cost is $29 for EFA members, $39 for nonmembers. This class will cover the tax benefits of various corporate structures, record-keeping practices, deductions, and more.

Copyediting.com and the EFA offer a variety of classes on other great topics. Be sure to check out their offerings!
