The Editorial Bootcamp will be offering a Copyediting Intensive workshop on Sunday, September 28, 2014, 9 am to 3 pm, at the Hyatt Regency Downtown hotel in Rochester, NY! This will be an intensive seminar focusing on the fundamentals of copyediting with some advanced topics as well!

The Copyediting Intensive immediately follows the 2014 Communication Central conference, “Be a Better Freelancer: (Re)Inventing Your Business” in the same location, September 26 and 27. Register for both events for discounts. (I’ll be co-presenting talks on “Creating Balance” and “Powering Up Your Presentations” at the conference.) June-July 2014 webinar: Fundamentals of Copyediting

Fundamentals of Copyediting, a five-session webinar covering nonfiction copyediting basics, will begin on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, and meet once a week until July 23, 2014 (five Wednesdays). Class meets 12 noon to 1:15 EDT each time. All sessions are recorded and sent to students (MP3 audio, handout files, and video clips where appropriate). Topics:

  • Capitalization
  • Numbers

Attendees will get pre-class reading and exercises, in-class demonstrations, student handbook, homework assessments, and résumé review. Classes will be recorded and available to registered attendees later (you do not have to attend “live” as it is happening).
